National Wallyball Tournament

April 5, 2008 by johar923

The American Wallyball Association and Wallyball International Inc. are holding their annual National Championship in Severna Park, MD this year.

On Friday I sent in a heavy envelope that consisted of nine different teams and thirteen different players.  In this package alone, we have 8 players on Friday, 12 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday.  I think PWN shall represent well.

There are still players working on getting teams together, so there may be even more of us there to hopefully take a crown or two.

The tournament takes place on May 16, 17 and 18 at the Severna Park Racquetball and Fitness Club.  I hope to see everyone there.

Refuel at the Playoffs

On Friday I am going to pick up some refreshing beverages to help you all replenish your liquids while you do you best to win the championship of PWN. I will be getting something Gatorade-like, some water and green (iced) tea.I will also be hitting Duncan Donuts on Saturday morning for a couple dozen donuts and some bagels and cream cheese.

Is everyone ready?

Tee Shirt Update

April 2, 2008 by johar923

Players,

I got an email late last night from the “artist” at Abstract Tees.  It looks like he only looked at the hastily scribbled order sheet that the owner and I filled out in a bit of a hurry a while back.  He replaced our beloved blue ball with a WHITE VOLLEYBALL.  The nerve!

I replied that these changes were not approved and asked them to try again.  I will keep you up-to-date as to the progress that I hope will give us satisfaction.

See you on the courts,
Joe

Winter League Playoffs

April 1, 2008 by johar923

This Saturday, (April 5th) the playoffs will commence.  All eight teams are in the playoffs for a double elimination challenge.  Next week (April 12) the loser bracket will finish their competition to send someone to the final.  So if you lose once, you can still make it to the final and get some of the prize.

I will try to have some refreshments and nosh each Saturday to snack on and replenish those lost fluids as you cheer your favorite team (or against your least favorite) as victory unfolds.

 Good luck to all and…

I will see you on the courts.

Joe
